Work with a NeurotechEU partner: Two Postdoctoral Positions in Brain and Cognitive Ageing
(1) Postdoctoral researcher in sex differences in social health, cognition and resilience (scholarship).
In this project, you will explore socio‑cultural determinants through which men and women engage differently in social health, shaping late-life trajectories—and ultimately influencing vulnerability to dementia and cognitive resilience. This project integrates brain MRI markers, cognition, biomarkers, and rich life‑course data from Nordic ageing cohorts and the UK Biobank. You bring:
- PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, psychology, neuroscience, sociology, or related in the aging field
- Strong skills in longitudinal modeling and R
- Solid publication record
- Experience with UK Biobank is a plus
- Passion for social health and sex disparity in aging
This project aim at identifying molecular pathways of vascular cognitive impairment using multimodal data—proteomics, neuroimaging markers of SVD, clinical, cognitive, and psychosocial—from Swedish aging cohorts and the UK Biobank. You bring:
- PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology, systems biology, data science, neuroscience, or related in the aging field
- Hands-on experience with proteomics data, statistical modeling, programming skills
- Interest in multimodal - omics integration within a lifespan framework (mid to late life)
- Passion for understanding vascular-related mechanisms and early detection of cognitive impairment and dementia
- Experience with UK Biobank is a plus
Deadline for applications is July 8th, 2026, with start in the fall.
