The Radboud Synapse of NeurotechEU warmly welcomes alliance members and friends to a special lecture and hands-on workshop on one of the most exciting frontiers in neurotechnology.

Many of you may have heard about the fascinating idea of electrically stimulating the brain to create visual sensations for people who are blind — allowing them to perceive light patterns known as phosphenes. This method lives at the heart of ongoing global efforts to develop neuroprosthetic vision.

On March 20th, we invite you to join us for an engaging session exploring this groundbreaking field. The event will feature a talk by Eleftherios Papadopoulos, who will provide an overview of the international research efforts aimed at evoking visual sensations as an aid for the blind.

For those participating in person: Following the lecture, participants will have the opportunity to experience a phosphene simulator themselves, offering a unique glimpse into how artificial vision might work.

Come learn about the science, technology, and future possibilities of brain-based visual restoration!
