A Strategic Roadmap for NeurotechEU: Evidence-Based Knowledge and Technology Co-Production
From 25 to 28 September 2025, NeurotechEU will host the yearly Neuroinnovation Summit in Bodrum, Turkey. This high-level event brings together academic partners, regional actors, and associated stakeholders within the consortium to design a shared strategic roadmap for responsible neuro-innovation in Europe. Anchored in years of collaborative work, the summit transforms data into action, aligning education, research, and regional engagement toward a common objective: building a cohesive, impact-driven European innovation ecosystem.
A Strategic Roadmap for Responsible innovation
The Neuroinnovation Summits are yearly occurrences internally hosted to generate strong collaboration between researchers, teachers, students, staff, and partners within the consortium. This year’s edition is designed to foster close collaboration among university partners, regional representatives, and associated stakeholders. Offering a focused forum for structured dialogue, grounded in evidence, and oriented toward implementation. Its primary objective: translate data into coordinated actions across research, education, and policy. The initiative is led by Work Package 4 (WP4) “Common policies and strategy development” under the coordination of Boğaziçi University (Turkey) and University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Cluj (Romania). Over the past years, WP4 has delivered a solid foundation through surveys, bibliometric mapping, SWOT analyses, and cooperation models. The 2025 Summit builds on this foundation to define a shared roadmap for the next phase of the alliance’s development.
A three thematiced-structured event
The Neuroinnovation Summit 2025 will be structured around three interrelated thematic pillars : data, education, and strategy, designed to translate evidence into coordinated action across the alliance.
- Day 1 : Data: Results and Implications : The summit will begin with a deep dive into key outputs from WP4. Participants will examine the main results fromfrom the Understanding Societal Challenges survey, bibliometric mapping, SWOT analyses, and information on cooperation models. Interactive workshops will explore cross-regional synergies, shared infrastructures, and emerging opportunities for joint initiatives in education and innovation.
- Day 2 : Education: Integration of results across scales : Focus shifts from insight to pedagogy. Consortium members will discuss how the data collected can directly inform curriculum design, with emphasis on the Joint Master Programme, PhD training, seasonal schools, and challenge-based learning.
- Day 3 : Policies and Strategies : On the final day, discussions will move toward strategic consolidation. Working groups will draft policy recommendations and identify priority actions for both regional implementation and alliance-wide governance. The outcomes will be reviewed by NeurotechEU’s Board of Governors and serve as guiding input for future project coordination and strategic alignment.
Driving long-term Impact across Regions
The Neuroinnovation Summit 2025 marks a key milestone in NeurotechEU’s mission to integrate research, education, and innovation across borders. It transforms collaborative evidence into operational strategies, and brings regions into the centre of neurotechnological development in Europe. While the event is mainly internal, associated partners are encouraged to engage actively. Selected hybrid sessions may be made available to broaden knowledge sharing and deepen regional involvement.
