NeurotechEU Doctoral Network

NeurotechEU Doctoral Network

Welcome to the NeurotechEU Doctoral Network, an initiative designed to bring together doctoral students from all NeurotechEU partner universities.

The network aims to strengthen collaboration, support mobility, and build a longterm research community within neurotechnology and related fields.

The programme is open to doctoral students working broadly within the neurotechnology sphere who are enthusiastic about international collaboration, interdisciplinary exchange, and community building.

Doctoral students at Donders institute

Overview

Each cohort includes up to five doctoral students per partner institution, selected locally at each university. Throughout the academic year, the cohort meets regularly online and participates in at least one yearly inperson meeting hosted by a NeurotechEU partner.  A certificate of participation is awarded upon completion.

Funding

Participation in the doctoral network is supported through NeurotechEU and Erasmus+, covering organised mobility activities connected to the programme.

Timeline

The call for the first cohort will follow this approximate schedule:

  • Call opens: Spring 2026 (check with you local NTEU-office)
  • Application deadline: MidJune 2026
  • Kickoff meeting: Fall semester 2026

Future cohort timelines will be communicated on this page.

Activities and format

The doctoral network combines recurring online meetings with an annual physical gathering. As the network develops, partners will work together to design additional activities such as workshops, short trainings, thematic seminars, and collaborative project opportunities. A shared curriculum for the first cohort is currently under development and will be expanded over time based on student input and partner contributions.  The network offers opportunities for:

  • scientific exchange
  • interdisciplinary learning
  • networking and community building
  • potential research collaborations and cosupervision
  • mobility within the NeurotechEU Alliance

Eligibility

All selection and nomination processes take place locally at each partner institution. You are eligible to apply if you:

  • Are enrolled as a doctoral student at a NeurotechEU partner university
  • Conduct research related to neurotechnology (broadly defined)
