Europe and beyond: strategic partnerships for 2040
This lunch seminar with invited guest speakers from the Guild invites participants to reflect on the alliance’s role within Europe and globally. NeurotechEU 2040 seeks to clarify how we position ourselves, how we engage with European stakeholders, and how we build international partnerships.
Together we will explore how NeurotechEU should interact with European institutions (e.g., the European Commission, EBRAINS, FENS) and how we navigate partnerships with both likeminded and geopolitically different regions. Your perspective will help define NeurotechEU’s international footprint and influence.
Guest Speakers – The Guild: Ivana Didak and Simone Mohrs
We are pleased to welcome Ivana Didak and Simone Mohrs from The Guild of European Research Intensive Universities, who will help frame the lunch seminar’s discussions with insights from the EU policy landscape.
Ivana will contribute her deep expertise in Erasmus+, the European Universities Initiative, and higher education policy, outlining key trends affecting university alliances and the future of European cooperation in education. Simone will bring perspectives from health, digital research and AI policy, highlighting developments in areas such as the European Research Area and the European Health Data Space, and how these shape research intensive universities’ strategic choices.
Together, they will provide a concise overview of current EU level developments and alliance related priorities, setting the scene for the Q&A and the interactive discussions that follow.
