The symposium "Journées CORTICO 2026" will take place from May 18th to 20th, 2026, at the LILLIAD Learning Center in the scientific campus of the University of Lille, France. This annual symposium brings together researchers across the world to present their work in brain-computer interfaces, neurotechnology, and cognitive neuroscience.

The Journées CORTICO 2026 conference will take place from 18 to 20 May 2026 at the University of Lille, France. This flagship scientific event brings together the research communities in Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI), neurotechnology, and cognitive neuroscience for three days of presentations, discussions, and networking. The 2026 edition will mark a major milestone with the 20th anniversary of BCI research in France, offering a unique opportunity to reflect on two decades of scientific progress while addressing current and future challenges in the field. The conference will be held in two languages, French and English, with live interpretation provided throughout the event, ensuring full accessibility for an international audience.

Participants from NeurotechEU partner universities will benefit from free registration, covering the full conference experience. All attendees are welcome to attend as spectators or submit their own work. Registration is already possible while abstract submissions (experimental results, case studies, literature reviews, scientific protocols, theoretical analyses, or any relevant contribution to the field) will open in January 2026.

The program will feature keynote lectures, oral presentations by young researchers, poster sessions, and dedicated networking opportunities for early-career scientists. In addition, the 2026 edition is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Brain-Computer Interfaces research in France, with leading experts sharing insights during keynote sessions.

Registration details and program updates are available on the official CORTICO website.

Call for Abstracts

The Call for Abstracts is now open, and researchers are invited to submit their work for consideration. Submissions may cover experimental research, methodological developments, theoretical contributions, or interdisciplinary perspectives related to BCI and neurotechnology.

Two submission categories are available:

  • Early-stage work : Poster presentations designed to discuss ongoing projects, pilot studies, or preliminary results.
  • Advanced-stage work : Contributions including experimental results, case studies, literature reviews, scientific protocols, or theoretical analyses. The scientific committee will determine the most appropriate presentation format, poster or oral.

Submissions must be made through the CORTICO 2026 CMT interface and include:

  • An abstract of up to 1,000 characters
  • A detailed PDF outlining objectives, methods, results, figures, and references
  • Submission deadline: 10 March 2026
Notification of acceptance: 20 April 2026

Scientific Programme and Keynote Speakers

A preliminary programme is already available and highlights a rich scientific agenda, including keynote lectures, oral sessions, extended poster sessions, and dedicated time slots for early-career researchers.

Two keynote speakers have already confirmed their participation:

Additional keynote speakers and programme details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Who Should Participate

Journées CORTICO 2026 is open to final-year Master’s students, PhD candidates, post-doctoral researchers, and academics wishing to present their work, receive feedback from the community, or attend as participants. The event offers a supportive environment for early-career researchers alongside high-level scientific contributions.
