The annual cognitive neuroscience symposium “Synapsium” is back for this year’s edition with the theme of “After (H)ours – Beyond the Lab & Through Time,” on the 5th of April 2025!

The theme for the 2025 Synapsium Symposium is “After (H)ours” – exploring the brain beyond the boundaries of time and the lab. This year, we dive into the neuroscience of time, investigating how the brain processes and adapts to temporal changes, from fleeting moments to lifelong development. But we also go beyond traditional research settings, highlighting how neuroscience applies to real-world challenges in clinical practice or technology. Whether it’s the brain’s internal clock or the impact of science outside academic walls, this symposium invites you to rethink what happens after hours—both in the brain and in research.

The target audience for this event is Bachelor, Master and PhD students. There are 10 spots available to students from NeurotechEU partner universities. Interested students should contact projectoffice@theneurotech.eu with a short motivation and we will make a selection. For any other questions, please refer to you local NeurotechEU project office.

After our selection, the selected students will be asked to fill in a form indicating whether they would like to present their research in front of an audience or have a poster presentation of their research alongside other students. Moreover they will be able to choose which of the parallel sessions they wish to attend. The exact programme will be announced on the Synapsium website.

Timeline:
Registration deadline: 24 February
Submissions presentation/poster deadline: 3 March
Event date: 5 April, 9:00-17:00

Moreover, the NeurotechEU Synapse club at Radboud University would like to connect with the visiting students through an event they are organising on 6 April. Students travelling to Radboud University will benefit from a weekend packed with interesting activities.
