Juana Gallar takes on the leadership of the Institute of Neurosciences (UMH-CSIC)
From the European University of Brain and Technology, NeurotechEU, we would like to congratulate Juana Gallar on her new position as Director of the Institute of Neurosciences, a joint center of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche –a NeurotechEU member–, and the Spanish National Research Council (an associate member of the Alliance).
Within the Alliance, Gallar is the leader of the Project at the UMH and one of the representatives from the Spanish university on the Board of Governors of NeurotechEU. Her experience in education and multiple international projects make her a valuable member when it comes to developing the education program and quality and equity standards; among other fields.
The NeurotechEU leader at UMH has dedicated more than 40 years to studying the sensory and autonomic nervous system in ocular functions. Additionally, Gallar maintains an active presence in international scientific societies, serving as Treasurer of the European Vision and Eye Research (EVER) and Vice President of the International Society for Eye Research (ISER).
Her career and commitment to science, the training of young researchers, the promotion of science among women, and public outreach make the NeurotechEU team proud of this well-deserved recognition.
