Address of the Presidents of National Academies of Sciences of the European Union Member States to the candidates for the 2024 European Parliament elections.

Ahead of the European elections, the presidents of the national academies of science in all EU member states are calling for the open and free nature of science to be nurtured and strengthened. This can be done by minimising barriers to scientific collaboration and protecting academic freedom and autonomy. They also advocate strengthening the EU Framework Programme.
