9th Board of Rectors Meeting in Bonn: Ideas. Imagination. Inspiration.

A Gathering of Visionaries

The theme of this spring’s meeting, “Ideas. Imagination. Inspiration.”, reflects the spirit of the European University Initiative: one of boundary-breaking creativity, interdisciplinary cooperation, and bold thinking. It is a call to look beyond the concrete and familiar, and to enter a space where ideas are born, nurtured, and transformed into impact.

As the NeurotechEU alliance continues to develop joint educational programs, research strategies, and innovation ecosystems, the Board of Rectors meeting serves as a key platform for high-level dialogue, strategic alignment, and collaborative planning. 

NeurotechEU Symposium: A Scientific Spotlight

Coinciding with the meeting, the NeurotechEU Symposium titled “Advancing Neurotechnology — Bridging Brains, Machines and Society” will take place on 13 May. Hosted by the University of Bonn, the symposium will bring together members of the scientific community to explore the latest advancements in neurotechnology and its societal impact.

From artificial intelligence to neuroethics, brain-computer interfaces to cognitive enhancement, the symposium will offer a platform for open dialogue and interdisciplinary exploration. It reinforces the mission of NeurotechEU to connect neuroscience and neurotechnology with real-world challenges—and to do so with imagination and purpose.

Building the Future of European Higher Education

The University of Bonn, a founding partner of the alliance, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of NeurotechEU. Hosting the 9th Board of Rectors meeting is both a celebration of what has been achieved so far and a step forward toward what is yet to come.
